Family of Secrets on the Newsstands

Family of Secrets is featured in Time Magazine‘s “Man of the Year” issue!

Lev Grossman’s short review is surprisingly kind, given the book’s many not-quite-favorable references to the magazine’s history. But what does ‘farfetchedly’ mean? Read Family of Secrets and decide for yourself.

The real definition of “farfetchedly” in this context means that this book could really make a differnce and Time was compelled to start attacking Russ Baker’s credibility before his book is even on the book shelves. I could hear through one of the bathroom doors at Time, “My God this ‘son of a bitch’ is liable to start a Congressional Investigation of the Bush Family & Friends just like that Marine General, Smedley something, did back in the 30′s.” “I mean I was just talken to one of those Bush people not to mention his name.” “He said do something quick.” “What we’ll do is get someone to write a nice fair review and stick the knife in at the end.” “Let me pull out my dictionary. How about farfetched-it means barely believable or unlikely.” “Great, get Grossman to do it.” “Done deal.”
